Auschwitz was one of the deadliest death camps during World War II. Nearly four million people were executed in this one camp. From its establishment to its closing, Auschwitz was the most feared camp for it was the site of thousands of gassings and medical experiments.
Auschwitz was located in south Poland near a town named Oswiecim. At first there was only one camp named Auschwitz I that was opened May 1940. The second camp, Auschwitz II, was opened in 1942. The last camp, Auschwitz III, was opened in October 1942. All of these camps had forced labor, and Auschwitz I
